The staff profile of each member, which is published within weeks of receiving the invitation, is a great way of getting to know people and building a network of business leaders. I edited the copy before submitting it for publication. On my first day as a LinkedIn board member, I was met with two immediate surprises: As a new business leader with 20 years' experience running and growing my own small business, it was a fast track to establishing myself and my business in the eyes of current and potential customers and colleagues.

The paid online editor’s paid newsletter is one of our best resources and a great way of tapping into the listener market. One thing we’ve found with followers is that they don’t mind spending money; no amount of persuasive marketing can match the organic reach of the free option. Internship or work placement opportunities: Posters, guided readings, online workshops, career advisors, a list of contact details for your local employment service, and much more is available on the newspaper that appears within the members’ inbox. These are Amazon’s self-help category newsletters. There’s no guide on their site for how to sign up to these except their own FAQ. Conveniently ignoring the question mooted above, they suggest you write to the editor of the selected newsletter. The small print? Every email you send to either The News or Business Times is automatically forwarded to the editor. Not too shabby: The head of customer insights at Amazon also states that “most of our newsletter subscribers do very well with us”. Many of the newsletter’s editors are also Amazon employees. Yes, the editors cover yourself. There is an article about this in The Guardian, so there is a little bit of third-party promotion.

 

Our members’ Newsletter offers a wealth of relevant and engaging information for each of our audiences. Indeed, we use it as our primary source of planning and promoting. How does the paid online editor (PIEO) model benefit those already in the industry and those considering joining? For every sale of A1 online advertising we’re donating a local charity to support in-person visits by curators to places of significance to our audience. We’ve been working on implementing this project for a few months now.
